A big thank you to all our wonderful volunteers for coming out on a very cold morning. Today we served nearly 60 guests in person - providing bags of good food, a fantastic selection of rescued fresh produce, a choice of warm hats, gloves and scarves, and a few other little treats. Our volunteer drivers took more good food to people at home. We couldn't do this without the support of a wide community of love - so thank you...everybody!

Collect for the fourth Sunday in Advent: Purify our conscience, Almighty God, by your daily visitation, that your Son Jesus Christ, at his coming, may find in us a mansion prepared for himself; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Journeying the Way of Love Advent Program

We invite you to join us for the final session of our Advent program, Journeying the Way of Love, this Saturday, December 18 from 4:00-5:30 PM in Kromer Hall.

We will be discussing the first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke and how Luke’s gospel provides a pattern for understanding how we can live the Way of Love as individuals, as families and friends, as a community, and out in the world. Refreshments will be served.

Join us for caroling in Remington on Sunday, December 19, at 5:30 PM. We will meet on the porch of the church and then sing carols in the neighborhood.

Volunteer to Help with the 80th General Convention of
the Episcopal Church

The Diocese of Maryland will host the General Convention of the Episcopal Church on July 5-14, 2022, in-person at the Baltimore Convention Center and is seeking volunteers to help.

Volunteers recruited from the Diocese of Maryland and neighboring dioceses, who welcome guests and support the logistical work of the General Convention, have an opportunity to learn about the structure and governance of The Episcopal Church. In addition to experiencing the gathering of The Episcopal Church, volunteers who contribute their time have the chance to meet people from around The Episcopal Church and connect with others in the diocese whom they would not have otherwise met. There are two steps to become a General Convention Volunteer:

Step One  Complete this online form to share your contact information (name, congregation, email address, and phone number) with the Diocese of Maryland. If you do not have an email address, you may contact Caroline Bomgardner at 410-467-1399 ext. 1379 to indicate your desire to volunteer.

Step Two — Those who complete the online form will receive an email in February 2022 providing information about signing up to volunteer for specific days, times, and areas of interest. A link and log-in information to a scheduling application will be included. Once complete, you will receive a confirmation email from the system with your selections.
If you have an announcement for our weekly e-news, please send your announcement to guardianangelremington@gmail.com by Tuesday at noon so we can include it in that week’s email.

We share the sadness of our friends and neighbors at the news of the death of Roland Wilkerson, which reached us on Wednesday, January 12th. Roland, was familiar to the people of Remington from his usual hang out near 7-11. Often seen carrying his guitar, he was cared for by many people who brought him coffee and food, who offered assistance, or who greeted him as they passed by. A beloved child of God, may he rest in peace. We hope to hold a memorial service for him when it is safe to do so. Let us continue to keep an eye out for each other, and especially for those who are most vulnerable in our community.
