#GivingTuesday2022

On this #GivingTuesday2022, please consider donating to support the Food Pantry at Church of the Guardian Angel at https://ift.tt/jIGRDN2 and select "Church of the Guardian Angel, Remington as the recipient. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, our staff and volunteers continue to feed over 120 families a week, ensuring people in need have food on their table. With the cold months upon us and the economic recession hurting vulnerable people in our community, the need for food support in our community is stronger than ever. An average of 150 families received food from our pantry every week this month. Your support makes a huge difference. Thank you!

Just part of the group of many volunteers who helped us clean up Kromer Hall and set up for our first in-person Thanksgiving dinner in 3 years! All are welcome to Church of the Guardian Angel tomorrow at 11am. We'll have turkeys. We'll have potatoes. We'll have mirth.

Please join the clergy and community of Church of the Guardian Angel at tonight's Transgender Day of Remembrance Service at North Baltimore Mennonite Church at 7pm. This service will also hold up the loss and pain in light of the terrorist attack on LGBTQ people in Colorardo Springs last night. Church of the Guardian Angel affirms the lives of and mourns with all trans, nonbinary, lesbian, gay, asexual, and questioning people who feel threatened in the world. May God's eternal love shine on all His people, and may His righteous justice descend upon us all 🙏❤️

Thank you to all the amazing members of our community who came out today to help with our clean-up day and Thanksgiving Meal Kit distribution today! With the hard work and dedication of many in our congregation, and our partners at the Maryland Food Bank, Seawall Development, and the Recovery Center of Maryland, we're almost ready for our coming holiday events. And special thanks for Tamora Kowalski for continuing the work on the beautiful mural in Kromer Hall. When our community comes together to do what is necessary, great things happen. 🥳

From our Evening Prayer service last night: Almighty God, who created us in your own image: Grant us grace fearlessly to contend against evil and to make no peace with oppression; and, that we may reverently use our freedom, help us to employ it in the maintenance of justice in our communities and among the nations, to the glory of your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

We remember Pastor Alice, and we give thanks for her life and ministry amongst us. On this third anniversary of her death, we invite all who knew and loved her to share food. Alice loved table fellowship. She was forever feeding people, teaching kitchen skills, enjoying food made by others, and holding hands to say grace. So, today, or this week, or whenever you can, make some cookies, share a snack, pour an extra coffee, bring someone a meal, help wash some dishes, remember Alice. The Remington Grace, "God is great! God is good! God is in our neighborhood! Yay God!" Amen.
